Today my bf and I went to the Bellevue Botanical Garden for a little walk. There werent any flowers obviously but it was still a gorgeous place.
There were so many ferns…
And moss too!
And a statue of an owl hiding in the forest…
A pretty lantern from our sister city Yao, in Japan
And a strange little tree with pretty leaves…
“Are you there birds? It’s me, Laura!”

I got my magical roll of size 110 film last night…
…now let the photo taking begin!
I went with my friend Javy to a field behind our work building and took a few pics there with the field and whatnot…they should come out cool. Still have 22 left…Need to remember I cant just delete pics and get the “space” back on my roll of film…
On a random note, I’ve been changing the theme and banner of the blog like crazy….I’m not really a fan of this theme….or of that trippy banner…but I like it better than the last one.
P.S. – How cool is that giant iPhone that got released today?
From my experience with my Lulu tablet PCs overheat like a mother-…..so I’ll be interested in seeing how the giant iPhone deals with that.

So I was browsing youtube and found a great account call threadbanger. They have great videos on DIY fashion and reusing clothes. The video that got my attention was How to Make a Spring Capelet, which was submitted by a user.
Basically you take an old sweater that is way to large for you…
Fold it in half, and cut along a curve that starts around the sleeve seam, hits the underarm area and ends in the middle of your sweater.
Then cut along that line on all layers….Open it up and cut along the chest to open the capelet and…
Pretty neat! Next, I’ll add some button/button holes and some ribbon to decorate….:-)

Today I picked up some random knitting needles (more like kebab sticks) and began knitting on my least favorite yarn. I’m actually making some progress!
I’m only knitting and purling at random and my technique is non-existant, but Im trying to be very patient. I think I’ll make a dreaded cell phone cozy out of this….It’s way too thin to be a scarf.
One of the disadvantages of making so many amigurumis is that I have no patience for any other crafts now. Making a small amis takes a few hours and I cant take any more than that. So, knitting will be an exercise in patience.

Oh yes….one of these. It’s a vivitar tele 815 and I found it for $3.99 at a thrift shop with its case and in perfect condition.
It didnt have any film so I guess that will be the next, painful step. It’s been difficult finding film so far. Apparently the world doesnt need 110 size film anymore….or film really.
I’ve been looking around ebay and amazon but so far the price for the film is 5 times what I paid for the camera….Must find…cheap…film!
Anyway, it was cool finding this camera since I’ve been wanting one of these for a while….if only for nostalgia.

Update 1/21: Film is on its way! Thanks ebay!….Next painful step….Find a place that still develops these size films.
